I'm really wanting to focus briefs/commissions that are based in commercial context

(Advertising / Branding / Promoting)
Need opportunities to showcase skills for THINKING aswell as DESIGNING
D&AD/YCN - (awaiting live briefs)
working with real brands, experience in advertising and understanding brands. Aiming to make groundbreaking work, fresh new ideas. I took part in the D&AD awards last year, creating an entry for the Desperados brief.
The Lifting Tower - although it does not sit within the commercial context that I am looking to focus on, I feel that this is an opportunity I do not want to miss, espcially since it is being funded by my dream clients John Lewis. I think it is definitely going to be a challenge because of the way it is specified in the brief to be non cheesy but about christmas. Christmas has been done so many times in terms of imagery, so thinking of something completely fresh will be difficult.
AOI Sounds Of The City - 'an illustrated interpretation of Urban Sound'; once again definitely a challenge as thinking of something fresh will be a challenge, however the prize is 2000 and the publicity would be great, so would be mad not to!
Illustration Friday - A really good brief/project for generating work with quick turnarounds. I'd like to answer the briefs with a set theme, and then perhaps start a new project from this. I think these short once a week briefs are beneficial because of the playful nature of them, and how if it doesn't work out as planned, then it's not the end of the world - there's always next week!
These are just a small selection of the briefs I'm thinking about tackling, aswell as alot of the live briefs coming in through the college. Each of them need to be planned and considered in terms of where I could push them, especially for the final major project (aghh). I also need to tackle the challenge of collaboration aswell again this year which is something i'll be thinking about in the near future.
