For this brief, I created a mask reflecting a certain mood and characteristics, inspired by the work of Saul Steinberg. I wanted to focus on creating an isolated, sad, and slightly disturbing mask, reflecting the way that you feel when hungover. I really liked the idea of big sad eyes, and tried to incorporate it into my initial designs.
To create the mask, I was very simplistic when constructing it, once again reflecting the techniques of Steinberg. I used cardboard and acrylic paint to create it, focusing more on creating a striking final image, rather than a heavily detailed mask. (pictured right)
